LG Saber (U.S. Cellular)

The LG Saber isn't much of a multimedia device, but it's a fine texting phone for the budget-conscious.

The LG Saber measures 4.5 by 2.4 by 0.5 inches (HWD) and weighs 3.6 ounces.

The Saber's VGA camera is useless. We understand trying to hit a price point, but we consider 1.3-megapixels a bare minimum; otherwise photos don’t even fill up a standard laptop screen.

The Saber's four-row QWERTY keyboard features raised, bubbled, plastic keys. Key arrangement and typing resistance are fine, and I had no problem using it for extended messaging sessions.

The Saber is made of a mixture of matte and glossy plastics, and finished in a pleasing dark gray.

The Saber's 2.2-inch, non-touch LCD sports 176-by-220-pixel resolution. It’s bright and colorful enough.
