The Motorola Droid X2 is big, beautiful, and powerful, but it's missing the high-speed network access it needs to lead Verizon's smartphone pack.
Front
The Droid X2 by Motorola looks exactly like the previous Droid X, at least when it's off, except for a missing camera button on the right side.
Angle
The Droid X2 is 5 by 2.6 by 0.4 inches (HWD), 5.5 ounces, and gets eight hours-plus of talk time on its 1540 mAh battery.
Right
The Droid X2 is Verizon's first dual-core phone, using the popular Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor.
Back
The 8-megapixel camera is fast, with the continuous autofocus helping bring shutter lag down to 0.4 seconds. And it takes sharp pictures in both daylight and low light.
Angle
The Droid X had an 854-by-480, 4.3-inch screen. The Droid X2 uses a 960-by-540 panel that's the same size. That makes text and Web pages look sharper than on the Droid X.
Right
A very good voice phone, RF reception on the Droid X2 was solid in my tests.
