Olympus Stylus-7010

The Olympus Stylus-7010 packs a 7x zoom into its small body, but soft images and a lack of HD video recording hold this budget camera back.

Front

For the same $199 you’ll drop on the Olympus Stylus-7010, you can find other cameras that offer better image quality and deliver HD video capture.

Individual shots feel even more delayed, because the 7010 averages .77 seconds of shutter lag (the time between pressing the shutter release and actual image capture).

 Back

The 7010’s 2.7-inch LCD is filled with 230,000 dots, which is fairly standard, if a little small, but makes more a clear and sharp screen.

Video recording on the 7010 is disappointing—it’s in standard-definition only.

Right

Despite offering a long 7x zoom lens, the 7010 won’t take up much room in your pocket.

Angle

At 2.2 by 3.8 by 1 inch (HWD), the 7010’s body isn’t much bigger than a smartphone.
The Stylus-7010 does have one stand-out feature—an auto-focus that allows to you to plant a lock on your subject.
The 7010’s user interface is basic and not flashy. Its main menu offers good looking icons that are laid out like an iPhone

Clicking on one of the menu icons takes to you to a drastically different, text-based menu.

Even in semi-optimal light conditions the 7010’s images just barely pass noise tests.

 Price Range $117.95 - $169.95
